OnMusic Theory II incorporates the concepts from Music Theory I. In addition, through guided composition and analysis, the course will include: an introduction to two-part counterpoint; voice leading involving four-part chorale writing; diatonic harmony; and an introduction to secondary/applied chords and modulation.
This course is a continuation of OnMusic Theory I. It provides a more in-depth study of scales, triads, diatonic harmonies, part writing, rhythms, sight-singing, ear training, dictation, form, history, and performance. It also includes the study of harmonic progression, dominant and non-dominant seventh chords, modulation, secondary function chords, and binary and ternary forms. It includes analysis and composition and is required for music majors.
